For Good

It was in the year 2007 where in my family decided to transfer to another place. I didn't go with them because I don't want to transfer schools anymore. I already started my first year in Western Mindanao State University and so I've decided to finish it there. I've made friends and I don't want to leave them. At first, it was hard for me to be away from them but eventually, I was able to get used to it. My second family and friends are always there for me, they were the ones who helped me to get by without my family. They were there to cheer me up and help me through tough times. Thank God also for the new technology! Thru cellphone, I get to talk to my family once in a while. And so, things got a little easier for me.

In the year 2008, my family then transferred here in Cagayan de Oro City. I was glad to know about it because they are 12 hours away from me. In the same year, we went for a vacation here in CDO. It's my first visit here and I instantly fell in love with the place. During my stay here I felt like not going back to Zamboanga City anymore. Sad to say, I have to because of school. Stayed for almost a month here, making most out of the time that I was with my family.

By the year 2010, we had our grand vacation here in the City of Golden Friendship. Grand Vacation for me because it was a reunion also for us. My family plus my second family -- it was so much fun! For the second time around, I fell in love with the beauty of this place. The place where my parents are staying is away from the city. Their house is just beside the magnificent Cagayan de Oro river. I just love the peace and tranquility of the place. Perfect summer get away! Away from all the pollution of the city and away from stressors. It's the right place for unwinding. So far, this was the best vacation. We got to visit places such as the Tinago Falls at Iligan City and Divine Mercy at El Salvador City. Shop and dine at their shopping centers like SM mall and Lim Ket Kai mall. Five days of vacay is not enough but we really had a great time.

I already have plans of settling down here in CDO but not too soon. I was thinking that it would be by the year 2013 and not this year. Coming and staying here for good this soon was not part of my plan. The only plan that I have in coming here is for another vacay together with my friends. But then, plans have changed. I do remember that before coming here, me and my aunts had a dinner date. We had a serious talk. They all encouraged me to go here. They said that greater opportunity awaits for me in this place. At first I was having some second thoughts but later on I've decided to come over here. 

And now, I'm here for almost three months already. So far, I'm enjoying my stay here in the City of Golden Friendship. I'm happy being with my family again. Things here are all new to me. New environment, new faces and new friends. I get to start a new life here. And I am looking forward for a better life and future here.
